For me it’s completely the opposite, except that I also consider sugar an addiction.

    2. Is “modern health” in the room with us right now?

I don’t know where you get your information from, but there are nearly no health experts claiming that nicotine of alcohol is healthy or not bad for you.

Caffeine is a very much accepted substance like tabacco was a 30 years ago. That doesn’t make it good, but it makes people less likely to argue against it.

Thats cuz sugar is the worst and most addictive, since the effects aren’t immediate, they are slow

Cutting any of one of those will make you healthier. Sugar is a very good start I would say it’s worse for you than coffee for sure.Β

    5. My favorites are people that complain about fluorid in toothpaste but then will snort every available white powder someone offers to them at a club toilet.

    6. I’m not overweight. Maybe even on the “should gain a bit” side. Why should I care about sugar? Blood sugar is good, teeth are good, I have no health reasons to not eat sugar. Caffeine is not unhealthy if your reaction to it is not bad. Alcohol and nicotine would have provable adverse effects on my health. Caffeine and sugar? Not really at this moment and probably not in the future, if I don’t magically double in weight.

    7. I am pretty sure “modern health” has concluded that all of those are unhealthy.

Alrght, who the fuck actually said that? No strawman, imaginary “average” online person bullshit

OP, u/Chipmunk_Extra, who the fuck had ever unironically publically approved of the consumption of the first three while also speaking against sugar addiction?

Give up whatever you can go without, but going totally viceless is American Psycho shit

OP, modern health logic says all of these are fine in moderation. They are addicting though so

Those people always existed. When I was a teen a girl was buying heal earth, used active coal, was vegan, the full package. And then she invited me to a rave going all out on drugs.

    12. Damn I do Caffeine + Sugar. And I’d rather real sugar all day long over that fructose crap.

I’m on a low sodium, sugar, and fat diet whilst counting calories throughout the week.

In the weekend I am eating a kebab and consuming a lot of alcohol whilst smoking ciggies.

    14. I keep seeing memes being posted about this on Reddit but have yet to come across a single person who thinks like this

There’s a lot of evidence that coffee has significant benefits for cardiovascular health (so long as you don’t load it up with sugar and cream). Just throwing that out there

lol in what world is anyone giving any of this as advice?

Literally no doctor would say any of those are β€œalright”

    17. All of those are unhealthy. But of all, the simple carbs are most dangerous for health.

    18. Caffeine inΒ normal moderation is in fact not bad for you

Any every mildly educated person agrees that nicotine and alcohol are bad for your health.

You’re gonna die anyways, might as well enjoy yourself along the way

    20. DontyWorryCupcake on

If you start listening to any non expert on this subject you will figure out that literally everything is bad for your health. I just stopped caring and decided that all is good in moderation.
