I never understood the lack of accountability of those doing the hiring? Wht does that go unpunished, but some one trying to make $$ to live or feed their family is jailed?

They are still ok with H1-B visas. Companies will gladly underpay someone from outside the country rather than pay someone inside the country a fair wage. Just look at where all the MAGA merchandise is made.
And if hiring illegals was so bad then how come the ones hiring them don’t get penalized? You think that would deter the companies and save those jobs that Americans supposedly want?

Someone paid an undocumented person 1000 for a job that’s 10000, they get fined 18000…. It’ll solve the problem really quickly.
This would probably have the unintended effect that the undocumented person can sue the person for 9000 and win.

My argument anytime a mouth breather says something about illegal immigration. Why not severely punish those who hire the illegals? One they are not paying taxes, two it’s a lot less people to investigate and build a case against…. Three the illegal immigrants would stop coming if there were no jobs. Shuts them right up.

The reality (for better or worse) is that no one wants a country without undocumented immigrants that can be exploited.
See how much people are complaining about gas? Imagine what produce and construction would start costing us.
Even if you absolutely hate undocumented immigrants, you would hate a world without them.
