To be fair, things were not as bad, but we had our share of troubles, especially with the basques and in a lesser extent some dudes that shot in the leg to a right wing radio journalist.

    2. Don’t ask the countries of the former Iberian Union why it’s “former”.

Also, doesn’t Gibraltar have an ongoing border issue with Spain? And Portugal with Spain as well? But Gibraltar also has this whole “Brexit” thing on top of that. Spain even recognises the Falklands as rightfully Argentinian because it would give them a casus belli for the entire peninsula and not just the airport they claim now.

Not to mention Spain’s internal conflicts.

Sometimes successful ethnic cleansing brings peace in long run. Despite our best effort, we balkaners just can’t do anything right. /s

Fun fact, though: the biggest battle in the American Revolutionary was was the Seige of Gibraltar

“Let’s not even talk about the cycle of hatred in the Balkans”

What could possibly be your goal with posting this (rather incorrect) meme other than trying to stir shit up and get people people to talk about the Balkans?

    7. We don’t talk about the 700 years where the Iberian Peninsula was not so ‘happy go lucky’

    8. Well after 700 years of killing each other, we just decided to try something different

Didn’t the Portuguese hate the Spanish in like the 16th and 17th centuries?
