Its fascinating going toy shopping as a parent today. All the toys are the damn near the same as they were when I was a kid, theyre just produced ever so slightly cheaper. Modern Beyblades are the easiest example of this.

You sure that left one is from 97? I don’t recall you manufacturers putting faces all over little kids vehicles until the late 00’s. Seriously, as a new dad I hate that you can’t just pick up a truck at the store that looks like a truck. Anything meant for a younger kid *has* to have some dumb anthropomorphism face on it. My biggest case in point is the cozy coupes.

I didn’t realize they still made Tonka!
When I was a kid I had that Tonka Workshop game for PC that had the workbench controller that attached to the keyboard and it was my first video game.

I am having a very difficult time accepting that these are from that far apart. I remember Tonka being more realistic and yellow back then not to mention the glaring similarities with Cars™ which came much later than even 2000.
