In this case, we are the alien abductors from above with our USOs. We are experimenting on this species with our strange devices and sounds. We put it to a strange environment that it feels being pulled downwards.

looks straight out of a horror movie. the ocean is honestly way scarier than outer space, no wonder people think aliens live down there.
for anyone wondering, this creature is actually a real deep-sea animal called a basket star (gorgonocephalus). according to animal planet, it belongs to a group of marine animals called echinoderms, which makes it a rare relative of the common starfish. they use thousands of those branching tendrils like a living trap to wrap around small prey in the coldest parts of the deep ocean, and they can even grow their limbs back if injured.

technically we can only look to space for aliens(extraterrestrial life) as it can’t be from this world by definition.
