    2. “This can never be the hero we seek! He has no talent, no experience, no skill, no motivation and never had any form of training, ever. But we do have a dozen others potential heroes who do have all that!”

“Nope. This guy is ‘the chosen one’, so we’ll have to go with that.”

The power of a two minute training montage defeats decades of dedicated practice every single time

Tbh crash couse is wayyy harsher, one is used to comfortable fighting while the other just fights with pure pain

The villain’s lifelong grind getting outshined by a two month hero crash course is peak movie logic.

Turns out the real superpower in inspirational movies is just being the main character

No way that the only black kid in a Chinese school in China would be called the “Karate Kid”. It’s nowhere near his most recognizable feature.

And why would they reinforce his confidence by calling him something he’s good at if they don’t like him, instead of using an immutable attribute against him?

      This is bullying 101, people.

      My immersion was ruined.

Well yeah but did the villain have a sick training montage with a catchy pop song playing in the background? Don’t think so

That is one thing I will give to shonin anime. They always have the main character do a lot of work to get to the level to beat their opponent.

Kung fu Hustle did it best. Guy gets his head caved in by evil master, becomes god
