I’m Gen X and every time I google something I go straight to the Reddit answer

    2. Define “getting their news”. Cause I see a headline and then go and google and look at a few articles. Reddit is the first place I hear about things.

Millennial here… I’m here for memes, cars, tits and gaming.

News I absolutely get from elsewhere. This is a fun app to me.

    4. The problem is that news can only be discussed in a very one-sided way on Reddit.

Millennial here I do get some news from reddit because they are on top of it but mostly take it with a grain of salt since reddit is bias and people are trying to get internet points in some way or another.

    6. It’s not because when the boomers were the same age as Gen Z is now they couldn’t have cared less about the news.

I only get my news from the legacy outlets controlled by billionaires /galaxybrain

I don’t just get my news through Reddit. I actively search Reddit for updates on Iran Ukraine and sentiment over the stock market.

    10. I had to turn off the random “Breaking News” noties I kept getting from Reddit. I wouldn’t say Reddit is the most credible.

And all the misinformation that makes it to the front page proves that very few people read past the headline, just like Facebook.

    12. Sure. If you’re reading a meme and taking what it says at 100% face value, then i agree.

But a lot of these reddit posts (not all) link a source or at least refer to one enough that you can find out more info on your own.

    13. Reddit is filled with so many tankies spreading Iranian, Russian, and Chinese bullshit

Reddit likes really shit sources like Daily Mail, Telegraph, Newsweek etc. Few people read past the article and just upvote headline they agree with. Social media is a terrible place to get news from.

    15. And if gen x get it through reddit? But mixed with blue sky? Flavored with small talk with coworkers? But critically questioned by voices in the head?

I hate reddit for news because newsmax is like half of of the posts and it’s also mostly not true and super intensified to get clicks.

    17. But how will i know if someone is at war if I don’t see NCD posts making fun of it

    18. Misinformation is everywhere, Reddit is still far better than Meta and Twitter.
