      They want you to watch the unskippable 30second ad so badly they will literally collapse the player architecture

      Youtube been doing it a lot, I remember like 2 years ago (damm 2 years already) they gave a screen to people using adblockers and restricted their video player.
      But ublock devs were absolute chads

      I’ve noticed this past couple of weeks that it’s been playing videos auto fixed at 480p to limit their bandwidth. Hunny you aren’t ever going to make YouTube profitable no matter how hard you try

      Remember when you used to be able to listen to podcasts on YouTube but now if you turn off your phone the video conveniently pauses for you (because that’s what you wanted right???)

      YouTube had thier chance, its been nothing but 2 or 3 ads every 3 to 5 mins, and half the time they are hentai related. I dont care how much of a buffer they force into the videos, im not paying for premium

      YouTube really shot themselves in the foot during the adpocalypse. If they had just put their foot down instead of bending the knee things would be much better.

      Honestly I didn’t mind the ads until they started doing 2 30 second unskippable ads every 5 minutes. I miss old YouTube when the longest you had to wait ever was 5 seconds

      Still surprised there’s no mainstream alternative to YouTube. Seems liklikee a market ripe for competition, I guess asking all the content creators who live off ad revenue to switch isnt going to fly 

      Old YouTube was amazing where people made shit just to make shit, not caring about monetization

      It also does this if you use the built in “block” feature (on most ads hitting “i” there should be a block button) which honestly I’m surprised they haven’t tried to get rid of it

      I have YouTube premium and ublock origin but YouTube STILL buffers the hell out of my videos..

      You can speed up the adverts by injecting a bit of javascript using a bookmark. Basically put this into the URL field for a bookmark:

      javascript:(function(){document.querySelectorAll(“video”).forEach(video => video.playbackRate=16)})();

      Click on the bookmark when a long ad is playing. Once the ad finishes your video goes back to normal speed.

      I have YT Premium (yeah yeah, I know, there’s a lot to say about that) but I also have an adblocker and it hasn’t even occurred to me that this is why YT has been buffering like crazy, even though I’m paying for it. Only on my desktop, never on anything else.
