      Through to after the First World War in many ways. But the 19th century list of racial preferences was a special time in Canadian history.

      Hey, by the late 1800s they were progressive! They allowed white Catholics AND Protestants.

      Kind of funny that the definition of white people has change over the years. If anything my people wouldn’t be considered “white” in early 20th century America. 😅

      A lot of countries had immigration policies to make sure they only allowed the “right” types of whites in. This typically excluded immigrants from the following countries from being able to enter:

      * Irish

      * Italians

      * Polish

      * Scottish

      * Certain Germans

      * Finnish

      * And more
