Loved hearing Chuck mangione after the question: what was Stephen colbert 1st concert?

It’s show business. I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t just license it and then make up this lie so all of us spread it because we’re so predictably human.

      Edit.

But, you know, it’s cool, continue feeding the propaganda machine because the man makes you laugh.

Conan did basically this same gag in his last week on the Tonight Show and was pretty clear that was just a bit. I love the bit but am not sure to be impressed or sad about how many people think this is legit.

      Also pro wrestling is real.

I appreciate the humor, but absolutely nothing happening on that show isn’t cleared with CBS lawyers.

If they could have gotten sued for it, it wouldn’t have happened.

They simply paid some money up-front to license the music, and then did this bit.

Which, conveniently enough, can be verified: Wait a year or two, and this clip will spontaneously vanish from all official video sources from CBS. Because the license to the music is only temporary and will run out eventually.

    5. People aren’t really dumb enough to believe this wasn’t planned are they? The show isn’t live. If the music was an issue that segment would have been cut or the music removed. Obviously CBS had no issue with the music.

    6. It’s a funny joke but if I recall correctly you are allowed to sample up to 30 seconds for satirical or parody purposes. I think they came on under that so CBS is unlikely to see any harm.
