I would definitely forget the next pose after finishing the previous one. Second guess if I actually did the previous frame correctly. And then gaslight myself into needing to start over again.

paranorman was stop motion???

Not only the stop motion is cool and the face is expressive, but someone had to edit the process to present it in a very pleasing way too. Mad props to these guys 🫡

Possibly the job that takes the most patience in this world.

This is probably the perfect answer to “do you love your job”. I’m sure he fkn loves it but the amount of work would make one wonder, eh?

This seems like a job with really great security, but there’s probably only like 20 people who cover the entire industry.

Days of work for 15 seconds that’s serious patience

Maybe I could manage the walk cycle with enough time and Adderall but I could never manage the face. Moving the eyebrows, eyes, and mouth along with the body to make it realistic is black magic.

This is in real time, he is just using his Sandevistan.
This movie is one of my all-time favorite “Halloween” movies. I love Norman 🖤

My buddy had a hand held stop motion camera when we were kids. We made so many amazing little short films with it. We would stay up all night on the weekends and then show his family in the morning. Thats where I learned my obsession with film. Wish we still had those films.

As an animator who is often overwhelmed with how tedious this job is….I have no idea why i picked this as a career.

how does he make an entire movie if one scene takes all this effort?

so question…
for any stop-motion movie…someone has to do “those” for the entirety of the movie? Or is it where they record some movements and somehow use other movements digitally?

Now this was fun to watch.

I love the low shutter speed of the movie, gives it an extra creepy dimension

Man this is so fucking cool
I loved the scene of [The Boxtrolls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3h7p0NckTKc) that shows this in such a humorous way.
