    My athletic grandfather was boxer, mountain climber, cross country skier, long distance runner, and in his later years a speed walker, including long distance events like the 100km of Biel, in which he participated in well into his 70s. He was a life long member of the SV St. Pauli

      Just curious, how did you use AI to enhance it like this? Seems like it did a pretty tasteful job honestly.

      Yes, it is AI enhanced, should maybe mentioned that in the original post. The logo is very smudgy in the b/w photo, but it says SV St. Pauli (Sport Verein), not to be confused with FC St. Pauli (Fußball Club). Edit: I know this, because I have his jersey..

      Partly to prove it’s real but also I’m curious if Gemini did a good job, how much detail was added or changed.

      I think the AI hallucinated a bit on the left leg. OP’s pappy probably wasn’t skipping like this. (Also, really cool pic, OP)

      Feels odd to see shoes have rubber studs in that era, feels like that’s something we came up in the recent era and when you only look back 1920’s is recent era compared to our history!

      There’s something really powerful about seeing that kind of determination frozen in time long before modern training, gear, or support, just pure endurance and will.
