Anandbai Joshi was the first female medical graduate from India. However, the first to actually practice medicine was Kadambini Ganguly

Interesting, the first woman to work as a medical practitioner in Brazil graduated in 1881 (she did not study in the country), while the first woman to graduate from a Brazilian medical university did so in 1887.
Not exactly the same year as this photo, but all close contemporaries.
