DC being dark and bloody is the most far-fetched misconception in the internet.

I mean their most popular character is Superman symbol of Hope, most popular super heroine Wonder Woman with her Lasso of Truth. You have Flash fighting someone called Captain Cold or Captain Boomerang 😂 . Green Lantern whose friend is talking squirrel. Aquaman should I continue?

Sure you have Batman, Batman is dark and grimmy ( well when he isn’t in his grey and blue costume fighting Batmite), but Marvel has Punisher or Ghost Rider. None of these comic publishers is darker than other imo.

DC really isn’t supposed to be dark at all. In fact for the vast majority of comic history it was the goofier of the two.

One of the differences that originally set marvel apart was the fact that it treated superheroes as real people and had more serious storylines about social issues.

This entire misconception stems largely from the impact of the dark knight and the shitty mid 2000s Batman fans who tried to make everything dark and gritty, ironic since traditionally even Batman was more of a neutral toned detective type than the edge lord BS of today.

I get you probably grew up on the snyderverse stuff, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but the truth is that phase was a major distortion of who the characters really are, and the recent return to the lighthearted tone is way more loyal to the original media

Fun fact, both rabbits and foxes are introduced animals in the UK and not native.

    5. I read a quote somewhere that described Marvel Vs DC pretty well imo. It said something like:

Marvel is people trying to be heroes, and DC is heroes trying to be people.

Both are good but that’s the main difference to me. Both have their dark and broody moments and both have their goofy moments

Its kinda the opposite for the comics. Actually this only really applies to the movies..
