      The French empire were such dicks.

      I mean the Brits were more prolific, the Spanish crueler. But the French empire just seemed to believe in humilating peoples they conquered. Just everything they did radiates pure contempt.

      I mean they forced Haiti to pay 150million Francs as compensation for them no longer being French slaves… paying their former masters. That’s uniquely sadistic.
