I think maybe we are doing better with the whole social media addiction thing in the US than China holy wtf

wtf do these streams look like from a viewer’s perspective? Just cars passing by them? Them seeing other streamers behind them? This looks fake – not from an AI perspective, but staged.

And I’m not accusing it of being staged, it just looks that insane and inconceivable to me.

just additional context. Some of the streaming platforms does geo based recommendations.

this means that streamer will get more chance with higher pay in more affluent area.

so where ever that’s clean, openly available, you will get this.

    5. They’re doing it because many apps will give recommendations based on location, so in more affluent areas you can get this.

Wish I remember which YouTuber did a deep dive on it, it was pretty interesting.

This makes me so uncomfortable. I can’t pinpoint what the feeling is.

    7. Is China still concerned about low birth rates if they have people relegated to doing this?

As a photographer there’s no way this is real, everyone would be in everyone else’s background! Unless this was an event of some kind at the very least they would all have pop up backdrops. This has to be fake

This is why I can never take an “influencer” seriously… what a joke of a life hahaha

    10. This is old news. They do this because the algorithms are geography based so they set up next to the rich neighborhoods.

    11. Okay. That’s pretty dystopian… And I don’t think anyone’s thought of this particular horror before
