brother, you pushed them off into the permafrosts and then expected them to build that housing themselves

Everytime I look at what the Soviets did to their minorities. I get more and more disgusted by Communism and the USSR.

what makes soviet deportations particularly brutal historically is that they weren’t just displacement. entire peoples lost their autonomous regions, their official languages got removed from school curricula and their presence in their original homelands was erased from maps. the “vacation” was designed to be permanent and generational

Didn’t stop at the Soviets’ own land either. Kaliningrad used to be Konigsberg. It used to be ethnically German with some Poles. It’s now overwhelmingly Russian. You do the math.

Uncle Joe also graciously created a autonomous region in the Russian Far East for Jews to live happily ever after where they can play in the snows, swamps and woodlands and be safe from stress of living in the urban cities. Weird that only a few jewish people stayed there though since the government said they would be safe there from capitalism.

Why do all the Jews want to go to Israel? I gave them a perfectly good homeland in Siberia.

Deportation is brutal, but sometimes when I read about settler colonies in parts of West Bank, Golan or Lebanon, what do they actually do there? Do they farm? The build houses, but what’s the income?

Anyone else misread chechens as chickens and wonder what Stalin had against poultry?

I mean the Crimean Tatars sold thousands of Slavic children it sex slavery then turned around and allied with the Nazis. Same the Circassians. Not sure how much sympathy I’d have for them if I was the family of one of those sex slaves.

The USSR even made up borders just to spark future ethnic conflicts. A perfect example of this is the Borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, wich is the source of the modern conflict between the two.

>The whole village, almost 200 families, was deported, here, to the Pahtaral region in 1949 …. Nobody had explained to us why we were being exiled or where we were going. We had two hours to collect our things… From 16 June to 10 August we were travelling. About eight or ten families in each cargo train, with the animals …. Once we arrived, I remember I was still a child, most people were dying from diarrhea. The water was fetid. My sister, who was much older, died from consumption at the age of 27, about one year after we arrived.

What they did to their [Greeks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportation_of_the_Soviet_Greeks) is criminally under reported
