    1. The difference here is money and power.
In the first picture they were a new and upcoming band, someone else had the money and power and they toed the line to get the TV spot.

In the 2nd picture none of that was the case. They didn’t need the TV spot and could just sing some shit on a roof top in there street clothes.

Everything is fine, change is the law of nature, one who does change himself with time get destroyed.

    3. Funny thing is, older people saw both the mod and hippie looks the kids were sporting with derision.

    4. That 1969 pictures is featured in Peter Jackson’s documentary. It was a random concert on the top of the Apple studio rooftop. The police came. They took pictures with the Beatles. It was spontaneous. There’s a chyron at the bottom that says something like, “This is the last time the Beatles ever played together live.” I think about that all the time. When I’m hanging with friends or visiting family, for whatever reason, this might the last time I see any of these people.

It’s wild to think that only 5 years pass between these two photos. In today’s time, that’s basically the gap between 2019 and now, but it feels like a century of cultural evolution happened in between

    6. People these days don’t understand the suits in first picture weren’t fashion at the time. Their look was closer to Green Day who also wear shirts and ties.

The first photo is not from 1964. It’s from 1963 and an appearance on “Thank your lucky stars”

    10. The 60s really went from polished and clean cut to full creative freedom in just a few years.

What’s funny is that the first image looks like the 50s and the second the 70s. The 60s were a psy-op.

    12. It still amazes me that we went from Petula Clark to Jimi Hendrix in less than a few years.

The Beatles looked a lot rougher than that in their days in Hamburg with their leather jackets. Brian Epstein got them to dress like that.
