What strikes me about these sorts of street interviews is how thoughtful and articulate people were. You can say these might have been edited (or even manufactured) replies, but just watch similar sorts of everyday interviews in the era of television, and it is evident there, too.

What was meant by “friendship” then? Did it really refer to something nonsexual or was it euphemism here?
