Hantavirus has a significantly lower transmission rate than COVID. With COVID one person in a gas station could sneeze and mess up every person in the store for the next month. With Hantavirus you would need a situation like being stuck next to someone on a plane for multiple hours to maybe catch it. Take all this with a grain of salt though. I just did some cursory googling when the fear mongering started and I’m not a medical professional.
