First the chimp had to understand what both sides were fighting for, and then he had to listen to the ‘Boots’ poem for hours on end.

What if there was a war like the American revolution, but every side was a hundred times more hypocritical. And instead of being an important stepping stone in the way towards representative democracy, it paved the way to concentration camps

In the ancient words of long dead media “I’ve met the king of china and the common Yorkshire miner but I’ve never met a nice south African!”

From what I understand the British were kind of the good guys… (Obviously it is a a bit grey).

Yes they made concentration camp but not extermination… The other side were rabbid slaver that certainly did not consider that 90% of the population (black) had a right to live even less so to freedom…

So if you consider black people as human (I do) the British for once were kinda right.

The myth that the British Empire invented the concentration camp during the Boer War is strangely persistent. Even a cursory look at the Wikipedia page for “concentration camp” disproves it

Bold of you to assume that a chimpanzee of all creatures wouldn’t be all about that shit.

The best part of that war was the Boers hitting 1100 yard rifle shots pretty regularly and the British teaching their troops that shots over 800 yards are impossible. Long story short, England just keep throwing men to their death and eventually captured the Boers woman and children and killed them in a massive concentration camps to stop the war. Over 40k died in those camps and the majority were children, so yeah…
