I fear people largely don’t come close to recognizing how much absolutely *critical* yet mundane stuff the Coast Guard does.

With how many boats of all sizes are in the water, CG regulations, inspections, and rescues are basically all that stand between sailors/passengers and horrific deaths on a daily basis.

I was Army but the CG is realistically the most useful branch out of the entire military in terms of actually getting shit done on a daily basis.

Search and rescue, customs, drug interdictions, environmental stuff, anti human trafficking.

So of course the traitorous GOP fucks em.
