Late to the party, takes all the credit. America is the fucking greatest.

Turns up late to someone else’s fight, throws one punch after it’s over, claims victory

I know its a meme, but due to the US entrance in WW1, German Empire had to waste even more men and resources to get a favorable treaty. That is why we see bloody battles like battle of verdun in the first place.

“we’ve been fighting since 1914” isn’t a boast. You couldn’t keep your shit together.

Low-key America never had any reason to be part of that war and still didn’t when we showed up

US entry was extremely important to the war and directly resulted in the Kaiserschlacht and the sucess of the hundred days offensive

Tbh I’ve literally never seen anyone claim America won ww1, hell, we should’ve let the euros finish their own war. Not our problem.

Have some major impact even if late like force German to attack before main US troops arrive , good moral boost for the Entente troops (no one gonna say no to millions more troops), and all the material help.
But yeah really late, contribution is much less than WW2.

Technically, they also only joined WW2 halfway through, and only when war was declared ON THEM.

They like to remind you that they “saved your ass”, but always seem to forget that France, Holland and Spain saved theirs.

Eh, US was kinda important, remember the French army was very low in morale and pretty much refused to launch any offensive by 1917 but continue to hold the line. It got to the point that they literally had to promote Petain and had him traveling to the front to improve morale. The Spring offensive was caused due to US intervention as a last ditch move to win and caused hundreds of thousands of casualties for them while Britain and France held the line because they knew the US was coming and when the Entente counteroffensive happened, the US already sent 2 million men in France. Without the US, the war could been extended and maybe a negotiated settlement happened rather than Germany surrender.

This is a meme, op fine, but some of these comments took it real as fuck. Calling out the U.S for being late and for pickup the scraps just to claim they did something.
Well yea they are literally on the other side of the world. No shit they joined a war that wasn’t a direct attack on them later when it was across the planet. And stop acting like the U.S did nothing in WWI or WWII because they did a fuck ton. Sure they joined at the end, but they also kicked fucking ass when they joined. Both wars would have gone longer and hurt Europe so much more if the U.S didn’t step in.
