      For those not in the know, it’s most likely that early grain farming was not used to make bread but beer.
      This is because beer contains a lot of calories that could be quickly digested, was generally safer to drink than water, and was basically an early energy drink that could be comsumed at any time of the day if you needed a boost.

      the actually insane part is this theory is real. some archaeologists genuinely believe the primary motivation for early humans to settle and cultivate grain was fermentation not bread. humanity didn’t discover agriculture to eat. we discovered it to drink. and somehow that’s more believable than the alternative
