There is some cosmic irony with the fact the guy who made dynamite created the most famous peace prize in the world.
Then William Murrel decided he wanted to use it as heart medication.

He made it safer *because* it was extremely dangerous, his brother died in an accident involving it. At the time nitroglycerine was *the* explosive of choice for anything needing an explosion outside of gunpowder.
