So hot. You killed it. Date was probably considering proposing and just locking in that second as much as it looks like a wedding.

Billy Ray wouldn’t sign the release for this photo to be published

    3. Was it common in the 90’s for prom dresses to look like wedding dresses?

Well I guess you two didn’t stay together then. Still, hope it was super fun. 😊

The wedding gown scared her boyfriend away and that was the last date they went on.

    6. With Fabio. A few years before his I can’t believe it’s not Butter commercials catapulted him to stardom.

    7. OMG I wore almost the identical dress to prom in 1991!! It was a little more pink but otherwise almost exact including the gloves!!

    8. That looks like a wedding dress. Two in one I guess eh.

Wedding in the afternoon, prom in the evening.

Pretty dress, OP! I was doing alterations for my peers in 91 (with my mom’s dressmaking shop) and I want to point out a few things for people calling this prom dress a wedding gown: differences between prom and bridal in the late 80s through mid 90s were subtle but easy to understand at the time.
Prom dresses had a lightness and language of shape that said “young” and “prom,” and this dress is an example of the romantic lace category. Lightweight, airy lace, ruffles, and accessories like gloves kept it young and more casual than the heavy, overly beaded, highly structured bridal designs of the era. Prom would also stand out from a bridal party or bridesmaid dress in that those were often shorter or monochromatic or color blocked and less quirky or detailed than prom gowns.
Other prom gown trends of 91 included taffeta, moiré taffeta, satin, faile, and high-low shirts. Some shapes mirrored bridal, especially styles with ruffles or bows. Toward 1991-92, Venetian lace at the shoulder line of an off shoulder dress in a solid jewel tone was all the rage, along with shorter skirt length.
