The only leash in the Victorian era was the one keeping women within walking distance of their own bathroom.

I forget people like OP still exist… 🤷‍♂️

Bear 100% of the time just saying

What about the distant past when ancient aliens were still around uplifting humanity?

    4. People who say it typically only think about the time’s ✨aesthetics✨.

How about, “I can’t open a business using a business loan unless I get a man to cosign it for me until 1987”?

The “urine leash” is, by all accounts, ahistorical. The first public toilets for men and women were opened within weeks of each other in 1852 and it does not appear as as subject of debate in any of publications from the Suffragettes.

Also as a concept, it makes little to no sense. Women have always worked and only the very wealthy would remain at home. If they didn’t have toilets, it was because they just didn’t exist at all, for anyone.

If men are the only people who would ever want to live in the pass.

Generally speaking nobody wants to live in the past. They just vastly underestimate which social class they would belong to if they would have to go live in the past

Do you ever like, feel so unhappy in your body that you would actually prefer the bottom ones to your current self? No? Just me? Ah well.

    10. People on this sub love making up a guy, or in this case lady, to make themselves mad.

Explains a lot about the world. People just inventing things to get mad about, or if we’re being generous, singling out a tiny group of clearly mentally ill people and acting like that proves it’s widespread and a really real problem.

OP, I’m pretty sure pink hair is talking about the future which they envision being better than now.

Which also makes this sub the wrong place to post it because it should have nothing to do with history. You just interpreted it wrong then made it about the past.

If you had kids at any time before the 20th century, most of them would die before adulthood. People forget how awful it was even 150 year ago. Children had like a 50/50 chance to even grow up. That’s why people had so many kids and why they encouraged teenagers to get married and have kids so early.

Ah yes, the past was an exciting time to be a woman where arsenic was the vogue makeup du jour to achieve that pale complexion and the tapeworm diet was their equivalent of today’s Ozempic for that wasp waist…all in the pursuit of fashion.

      edit: because spelling is hard

I think they mean 2010ish era, women actually had more right back then

    16. Every edge lord ever who thinks if they lived in ancient Rome they would conquer Persia instead of dying of dysentery.

    17. 2010 is as far back as I’d realistically go, because all of the important tech has already been invented.

Why is it every time someone talks about what their life would be like in the past they think they would be aristocracy?

Farmer. You would be a farmer. Pick a date. Statically you are a farmer. Your life is farm.

    19. Technically, they didn’t exist for men either. We just pissed wherever.

Women who wore jewelry like that (from 19th century) weren’t forced to marriages at 14

    21. I know, sister. I’d like to go to a future time period to see first if there is one, and two if women’s rights have improved.

The fog will consume us all in June 2029 anyways, nothing will matter.

I’d love to live in the past but like Ancient Greece on Lesbos. And wtf is a urine leash?!
