Wow. Lots of parent centred thinking here that is not seeing the adoptee as a whole person but as a commodity of the parents, even into adulthood. Im glad that conventional wisdom these days is to always tell children that they are adopted. And the first two had it on the money. People have the right to know who and where they came from. Adoptees are not blank slates, they are whole people with different genetics. Also notable that nearly all these answers assume that adoptive homes are good and loving. Sadly that is not always the case.

I’m wondering if the people who said no were thinking the adopted children would disown their adopted parents? Every video I’ve seen of adopted people finding their bio parents are pretty beautiful for the adoptee and the adopted parents.
