One of the things I enjoyed about The Expanse (tv show based on quality books) is that the Mormons are paying a few trillion dollars to make a long distance star ship to go colonize space.
Like them or hate them, the mormons are weirdly successful for such a (on my opinion) ridiculous and recent premise for a religion. They make total sense for a future religious group doing big shit.
