I get it only in the sense of being annoyed at the constant censorship of dark topics. But I am only annoyed by that because then when a video essay is made about a some horrible crime the narrator has got to say some dumb shit like “sewer slide” in the middle of a morbid and dark video!

This shit started because youtube is so sensitive with demonetising content that used no no words, cause apparently when a child learn the word suicide, they will run to the kitchen and slit their throat or something.
Then these people are so used to hearing creators using these words, it slowly turns into its own slang that people use everywhere.

This isnt slang so much as avoiding words that get flagged on social media. Still annoying. There are plenty annoying Gen Z slang I’m sure.

I love that people are already doing this to the younger generations. This one isnt even their faults. But we act like each generation doesnt create its own slang. We do this cuz its censored and against the rules on social media.
They had to adapt because they no longer have freedom of speech. If they don’t change how they speak, they go unheard.

You see the thing is, a lot of people complain about these words but in most cases it’s not like you can say the actual version due to dhitty platform censorship and TOS. If you say something like suicide on some platforms, you’ll get your comment secretly hidden. And for yourubers, they don’t make any money.
It’s to avoid shit ass ai detection that automatically bans you based on keywords.
I feel like a lot of it comes from tiktok, right? Tiktoks TOS is super strict with those words that people had to make work arounds. I definitely agree it’s ridiculous, but for the most part- blame tiktok lol.
