Some reddit AI thing said I might be breaking a rule, “post memes”. Pretty sure this is a meme lol, hopefully the mods don’t agree with the AI. I think it’s just cause my title is asking a question and they think it’s the entire post, without realizing the title was just engagement-bait for the meme.

I’ve never been on a date before, but I used to try to convert people to Titoism, even if the topics of our conversations were rather unrelated (mainly modern politics).

“The Mongol Empire? What a loser! The subsequent Khanates were much more interesting. You see, after the death of… babe, where’re you going?”

A line I used at a date was “You know how men think of Ancient Rome an average of three times per day? Well, I am the reason that number is so high. Since most men think of it sparingly, like once monthly, but I think of it so often I single handedly raise the average to about three times per individual of male gender per day.”

Last night we saw Gladiator II, I mocked the history and she mocked the crap story. Our newborn daughter slept in the baby nest between us.

      It worked!

My focus is on development of technologies, so I jump around a lot. Sure, the rapid development over the last century and a half has a lot of fascinating topics, but who doesn’t love hearing about the invention of “the sewing needle” tens of thousamds years ago?

Recently, i started talking to my wife about the Mad Baron and his adventure in Mongolia. At least, she pretended to care enough to not hurt my feelings.

    7. my gf’s test to see if I am druk is asking a question about the roman empire. If i donut stop talking about the god damn romans, I am drunk. (we’ll get chickie nuggies after)

    8. 19th and early 20th centuries, typically, though occasionally medieval. My career is related to infectious diseases so the big bad outbreaks of the past get brought up

    9. I’ll do some service to humankind, the music in the background is “In Praise of Genghis Khan”.

I might talk a bit of the kongsi federation of Langfang, or the peasant republic of Dithmarschen even though i don’t know a lot about those.
If not, maybe bronze age, or 19th century.

    11. My partner is from Crimea. I constantly tell her she is a descendant of the Scythians.

Six years in and still get the “babe what the fuck are you talking about?” look every time
