Vienna once was also saved by an outbreak of the plague at the ottomans camp. Sabaton doesn’t sing about that either. Only winged horses.
Europe was saved by the fact that the mongols couldn’t keep their giant herds and move through europe without becoming a more infantry based army, which would detract from their strategy. They had pretty good intel on who was where and with what, Much like how they didn’t push into south asia as much.
Being horse-bois just means that you can’t really do well in huge forests, jungles, mountains and the like.
This is the first time i realized the guy in the meme isn’t wearing a jetpack.
The Mongols didn’t retreat because of one “winged letter”, they didn’t even attend the Kurultai until like 1250. Also Vienna wasn’t even in the picture, Hungary and Poland, and to a lesser extend Bohemia was.
Well. Mongols couldn’t siege Hungarian castles and fortified cities. Vienna is well inside HRE lands, they could raid it but I doubt that they would make it back to Mongol lands though Hungarian swamp during winter.
