I say that i think it’s something very interesting to think about, I’m not precisely someone that likes the political philosophy that the CP promoted but I think It’s a very interesting what if. Our world would be so different, and maybe there would be more confederated states as Germany in Europe, which would probably promote a Second Wage Nationalism around the concept of nation of nations or people’s nations. Something that people don’t talk too much about and that is by far the MOST interesting parts of an scenary where the CP win the war is that plurinational states would become the standard.

Germany winning WW1 would have meant the French, who would be just as Vengeful or Russians who would maybe want to Spread communism by force directly, I don’t know. Italy was a Winner or WW1, Rise of Fascism was still going to Happen, French People might have gotten just as easily convinced by a guy named Adolphe Hitleroux to Start purging Jews or whatever. Characters would change, Scenario wouldn’t. At least that’s my Humble personal Opinion
I also know it wouldn’t be good for my country with the Archaic Monarchy still in Charge as Atatürk would have no reason to start holding congresses in Anatolia, seeing as the country is not being invaded.

nah bro youre not the only one. that “germany shouldve won ww1” take is pure alternate history cope. real history shows a german victor wouldve just meant a stronger militarist empire dominating europe, not some utopia. versailles was messy, but romanticizing the kaiser’s germany is wild. read a book instead of tiktok edits

to quote Max Hastings: “do you actually believe that the western democracies could flourish in a German dominated Europe?” (okay, that wasn’t the direct quote, but the summary of what he said).

Germany made a peace proposal in 1916 and it was much harsher than Versailles, and this was from a stalemate. It’s hard to see, for example, the hundred million people in Eastern Europe having self determination with a German victory. Probably would get some form of colonialism instead.

It might’ve been a good thing. It’ve been a worse thing.
If germany won, maybe the extremists would’ve find a way to blame someone somehow.

I prefer the AU of the Rough Riders being approved for deployment under Teddy Roosevelt.
There is a theory that the German Emperor, Wilhelm II, might have called for a cease fire if news of him entering the battlefield came to him.
I personally doubt it, but it is a fun thought experiment.

I suspect that if germany somehow wins WW1, there would be still this concept of three languages being used for three different industries, english for trade, french for fashion and art, and german for science and tech

I think HOI4 Kaiserreich taught me that, just because WW1 Germany may have not been as bad as the Nazis, that’s still a low bar, and the inherent militarism of the Kaiserreich’s institutions—as well as how those institutions stoked nationalist sentiment regardless—meant that Germany was going to be ripe for (even if not Nazi) at least proto-Fascistic sentiment.
Besides, if Germany didn’t become the aggressor in a ‘Second Weltkrieg’, they would have definitely made enough enemies as a result of fucking over any degree of countries with their German(tm) treaties.
TLDR: If Germany itself didn’t lose the war, it would have likely pissed off everyone else regardless, been a hotspot for deeply institutional conservatism (which may not be that bad on its own but given how the German noble in the Weimar Republic enabled so much of the NSDAP’s stuff even before Hitler got into power; it might have at least become a hotspot for underground, if not open proto-fascist movements). Which would have led to an even worse Second World war.
I’d definitely have wished an FDR-like figure helped out with the Treaty of Versailles instead of Woodrow Wilson, even if they had similar ideas. Idk I’m just yapping at this point

The thing is if Germany had done well in WW1 then with the allies weakened and Germany’s rise not halted I can’t see WW2 really happening. If anyone tries it Germany will just stomp them. Look at how close ww2 was as is, now imagine if France was the one that suffered economic collapse and had to rebuild its entire armed forces from scratch, Britain had already lost its empire (collapsed in the aftermath of the devastation inflicted by WW1) and Germany had had 20 years to consolidate control over eastern Europe. I just can’t see it.

It’s easy to say we got the worst possible outcome for WW1 because with hindsight we can see all the bad things that happened as a result. But we don’t know for certain what would have happened twenty, 50 years after a german victory and if that would actually have been better. Arguably it would have been best if the war didn’t happen and millions of people didn’t die, but we don’t know what the consequences of that would have been.
And this isn’t even addressing that horrible people argue because of their nationalistic/racist/anti-semitic/royalist world view, that a german victory would have been preferable.
