Back in 1978 i worked as a waiter. One of my co-workers was a Black fellow, much older than me, who liked to tell stories. Sometimes his stories seemed a bit too impressive to be true.
Anyway, like many of his generation, he said that he served in WW2. That seemed likely considering his age. He also said “i was one of the soldiers who often served as a bodyguard for general Patton.”
He also told me that he carried a tommy gun
I do not recall his face. I remember his name: John Day.
