Serious question (no joke replies please), does anyone know what the heck weird math mistake RFK was making when he said that? The numbers were just so random I can’t tell how he was trying to calculate it.
Edit: I had to look it up and the math he was trying to explain was you could view a reduction as relative to the current price (eg. 100 to 90 is 10% relative to 100 or 11% relative to 90). But the numbers he chose were way off if you calculated it that way because he was just trying to cover for Trump not understanding basic math.

Does this method of percentages have legal implications? May I tell my bank that according to my APR I’m supposed to get 2.89% a year and they’re only giving me .289%, so I should be getting 10 times the interest they’re paying me now?
