I love NYC but some shots, usually from higher angles or aerials where there’s a lack of distinct sensation of human activity, can really make it look like a dystopian land of monoliths and megaliths to the endless working grind. The smog and colour scale certainly don’t help but this is one of those photos.
To a reasonable extend I guess that’s largely what downtown Manhattan is now that I think about it.
