I remember this style of cotton print fabric from around 1984. I think it was big probably starting around 1980. They were coordinating sort of Eastern European/"gypsy" hippie kind of themed. I think this girl's mother probably made the dress for her.
It's very nostalgic for me.
I was a thrift store today and bought a frame with this picture in it. No name or date, and I thought it would be best to give her some anonymity. I'm guessing she's a 50 year old by now.

I mean it’s not, I’m on the other side of the planet, but that could be me, down to the cowlicks. Uncanny. I think it might be slightly earlier, but yeah, that early 80s Diana sloane-ranger thing, with the Holly Hobbie / Little House on the Prairie 70s hangover.
