I worked in this industry for a few years and I’ve seen this very machine. They upgraded to one that’s about five times faster than this. It’s insane. I’d you open the door, it slows right down to human crawl speeds.

In fact it’s even slowed down, for filming I guess.
Our machines can ring up to 50.000 parts/hr, when the layout is well done and the machine does the toolchanges efficient. In SMD (these in the videos shown are THT components, which need the pins go trough the board) our best machine can assemble 150.000 parts/hr. So fast you can’t keep up.

I think this is one of those cases where it’s fair to give the job to AI or to the bot because of several reasons and this one requires extreme precision. You can either involve the human somewhere in the pipeline or as a coordinator or something but this looks like a very intense job for a human to do properly

This video is garbage.

I can see why automation can be important/efficient in some areas like this BUT you’ll still need a human to visually see if there’s any mistakes.

this is why they stopped using child labor. those components are tiny!

Through hole, like shown here, is a bit slow as an example.

Incredible
They took our jobs!
Yet I’ll bend pins on a single ribbon connector.
SMD robots can place over 130 000 components per hour. 36 per second.
Through hole PnP is “slow”, pure SMD PnP machines are like <500ms per component. They are BLAZING fast!
Dude if you did speed up the video they would do it even faster
“Hold my bottle of lubricating oil…”
Why?
You wait till that guy is Robocop.
so before you spend ~1000 dollars on an iphone, remember that their core was built in seconds lol
fascinating
That’s why all my connectorsnhad bended pins 🤣
The inspection machines they use to test the boards:

SMD is blurringly fast.
