Looks like libertarian colors, but I have no idea the particular context.

Edit – Austria, rip my stupidity.

    2. Austria v Serbia leading to WWI.

The one Serbia refused to obey was the most important one. Austria wasn’t being unreasonable and Serbia had just murdered their #2.

    3. Austria being technically responsible for both world wars and then Germany getting most of the blame will never not be funny to me.

It’s still crazy how people are still defending Austria and Germany in WWI and blaming the allies for the Treaty of Versailles as if the Central Powers didn’t do everything in their power to start an war of aggression for no reason other than the acquiring of power and prestige. There is already one of those in the comments of this post lmao

The truth is that Germany and Austria got away with their crimes basically scot free, especially Austria. The allies should’ve pushed for a settlement like the one they did after WWII, only that way they would’ve prevented german aggression

Serbia refused the one demand that really mattered: Allowing A-H to properly investigate the assassination. Everyone knew the Serbian government had ties to the Black Hand so their investigation would have been a joke

it wasn’t that absurd, and Serbia had been legitimately interfering with the investigation and making it much harder to investigate the killing of the heir to one of the largest empires in Europe. Austria-Hungary also definitely did not know this would become a Europe wide conflict, they probably thought it would be another balkan war

Did even Austria itself expected Serbia to agree to all points?
I mean they needed casus beli. So they created one…

Are you…. stupid? It was absurd on purpose, because they wanted to go to war! But instead of immediately attacking, like the Kaiser told them to do btw, they decided to send an ultimatum and wait 2 months which allowed Serbia to seem reasonable. If they had simply invaded, when the whole continent was mourning the Archduke, ww1 wouldn’t have happened, atleast not then and there anyway

This is like blaming the US for going to war with the Taliban over their refusal to hand over Osama bin Laden.

They refused the key demand and modified the wording of the other requests to make them meaningless while seeming to acquiesce.

The black hand organized the asssination. The leader of the black hand was Apis, who also was the chief of military and civilian inteligence. He funded of signed of many of such Operations. He used state recources for operations like that. As Austrian I think we were more than justified to demand an end to those activities, may it be via investigation and cesation by police or by military.

We already had a formal treaty where Serbia agreed to stop activities like that, but they just continued witht hose subversive activities.

Literally every major power in Europe except the ottomans where aching to start a war. The Germans where just ready first.
