Well, once Trump is done with our standing in the world, we won’t need such a HUGE military budget and maybe we can re-prioritize.

    2. Yeah, we just need to leave off the part where he excluded every Asian American from those ideals.

    3. The number of people that would vote against this to stop other people from getting these things is too damn high

They’re all part of the establishment and want to keep the status quo. That’s why none of them take a solid stand against Israel.

If the platform doesn’t include stripping the Trump family of everything they have, the Democrats are failures

    6. Remember that FDR said minimum wage shouls grow with inflation and prices of basic needs, and the right fights raising it

I don’t think that fdr gets enough credit for what a great job he did during WWII. Current events can show you how terribly wrong it could have gone, but he managed to get the public behind him and buying war bonds and rationing goods. I think if trump suggested war bonds he’d get laughed out of existence.

    8. FDRs new deal literally propped up the prosperity of America pretty much up until this day, and every time a Republican is elected they whittle away at the programs that were created by or rose from this era of legislation.

And on the inverse Reganomics has been weakening and crippling our government since he left office. But every Republican since has fully bought into trickle down economics for the betterment of their donors class.

Dems should be running on the green new deal but centrists are also bought and paid for by corporate interests. And then will tell you Gavin Newsome is your only choice for president in 2028

    9. Hello.. Bernie Sanders anyone!? He’s been running on this platform for years and what has that got him!?
Any running for office should be running on a “lock them up”, get corporate money out of politics platform!

    10. Using that last one to come down like an extinction level event on propaganda masquerading as news please.

His Cousin Teddy, had some interesting ideas.

When I say that I am for the square deal, I mean not merely that I stand for fair play under the present rules of the game, but that I stand for having those rules changed so as to work for a more substantial equality of opportunity and of reward for equally good service.

The closer the Democratic platform is to the New Deal the better off they will be. More ‘Republican Lite’ isn’t what will motivate the base.

    13. As much as I love the spirit and north star here, I expect to be downvoted: how exactly do we expect a politician (or anyone) to implement these? Specifically #1, #3, and #6. (2-4-5 we’ve got minimum wage, universal health care, maybe UBI.)

I fear we’d spend 4 years debating what a decent home and education even looks like, let alone implement policies around them.

    14. “A good education”

If this happens republicans will never win again. And more churches will close.
