Ok I know I don’t belong here and this isn’t an autism sub but there’s levels to this for sure and some people being obtuse on purpose to try and force you into communicating “better” but actually just being controlling (example “No, it’s MAY I use the restroom!”) is really frustrating when you genuinely don’t know what the problem is or even that there is a problem because they won’t talk to you about it. I guess this rubs me the wrong way because ignoring hints for not speaking up and being direct is the opposite of speaking up and being direct and you should try to model the behavior you want from others.
But also if this is about something I’m just to white to understand because I don’t have context then I apologize for not knowing what I’m talking about.

The irony of doing this rather than speaking up and being direct

i do the same but people simply assume that i am autistic and then treat me like i’m stupid for it. like no mister landlord i dont give a shit that “well times are tough and i was wondering if you would take a rent increase” are you gonna do it or not

Depends on the hint and what it’s hinting tbh.

I prefer to just translate for them. Someone says something vague about another person and I’ll clarify with, “Oh, you’re trying to say that he’s annoying?”

Why don’t you just…answer the hint? Like if you KNOW what they are hinting at, answer.

I ignore my coworker when he is trying to talk to me sometimes because we sit facing the same direction in cubicles and he’ll ask me to do something but won’t stand up to face me to try and get my attention first. I can’t hear wtf he’s saying, especially over the vents above my head. Oh welllll.

To folks who be beatin around the bush, directness feels like aggression. But also, peoole have a tendency to call cruelty bluntness. It’s like you search your mind for the most hurtful way to express something thing and then wanna tell me it’s honesty. When I gotta watch you not do that with your friends. I ain’t buyin it.

I don’t want to get mixed signals and make it weird
You told me you want me to cum in you and you *want* to be the mother to my children? No, you’re just flirting and being nice

As long as you handle the directness with maturity, otherwise they were probably right to not be direct.
I miss hints accidentally because I’m autistic
Speak up ya bitch

Closed mouths don’t get fed! You either tell me exactly what you want, or go somewhere else!
This drives my wife crazy! I love it! Say what you want/need. Quit playing. Too much going on to be deciphering code.
Shout out to the dry beggars who try to get you to volunteer to do/give something instead of asking directly.
I do this with my wife. It only works like a third of the time 😂
I don’t do mind games. I don’t care to spend more than 5 minutes trying to unpack your brain. Say what you gotta say and move tf
So why don’t you not ignore the hint and say directly “I’m ignoring your hint so you can speak up and be direct like an adult” like an adult?
