I have no fingerprints because I have eczema, even the DMV had to skip past fingerprinting because they couldn’t get one from any of my fingers.

The DMV had a hard time fingerprinting me because I was an RN (retired now) and nurses wash their hands so much that fingerprints wear off.

i get eczema flare ups on my fingers when i get stressed out and this happens too! at one point i was barista and it was happening and i kept dropping the steaming pitchers on the ground bc my hands had no grip 😭 it’s really uncomfortable to have eczema there!

“No fingerprints? I know just who we’re looking for.”

You’re secretly an assassin or spy, aren’t you? Or an MIB agent?

    5. CBP gave up trying to get my fingerprints when I applied for Nexus because I wore them off rock climbing.

I‘m curious, are you still able to use Touch ID on your Mac or is that also not working?

Yea eczema can absolutely mess with fingerprint patterns because the skin keeps rebuilding differently especially during flare ups

I feel like this makes you easier to frame:

      – No fingerprints were found at the scene.

      – exactly.

    10. Fun fact….going through chemotherapy can also wipe your fingerprints. Sometimes it comes back afterwards, sometimes it is permanent.

Source: partner just had 3rd round of chemo

I’ve been there, but not for years. It really sucked. Topical steroids with gloves on with night. Really hated that.

Tetrix (prescription) and Cerve hand lotion were pretty helpful. Aveda’s hand cream also is pretty good, just expensive.

Everyone hand soap seems to strip the oils off my hands less, but I assume there was something environmental with my hands too. Their lotion works decently too, it was a lifesaver during covid.

    12. That sucks. One of my friend has eczema and he worked as a chef before when he was young and having his skin irritated due to latex gloves, food ingredients, and the constant handwashing really does torture him a bit. His pasta is delicious tho and thankfully lately hes only doing officework and the sore parts are localized in his elbows nowadays.

I’m curious to OP, have you ever had check for allergies, auto immune, or deficiencies? Some of my family has auto immune and part of it is redness and itchiness on the skin.

You’d make a perfect criminal, wouldn’t you? Have you ever thought of going into that line of work? “Sorry, captain, I couldn’t find a single good fingerprint on this guy.”

Nice, and I’m glad that your hand is not your sweater, or whatever that is.The thumbnail scared me for a split second

IS THAT WHY MY FINGERPRINTS ARE MESSED UP?!? I can’t use any type of fingerprint reader…
Thank you so much for posting this. It makes so much sense but I’ve never put two and two together.

Also years ago I worked as a licensed insurance person and they needed fingerprints from me. They retook them like 4 times. I think they may have given up at some point 🤦🏼‍♀️

    16. Wash less, keep them moisturized, keep them warm. It will heal. It took me a couple of years but it healed. At one point it was so bad that I couldn’t shake hands with others, fearing it’d give them a cut.

    17. …….. I’m turning you in. So you know a…”cookie monster”?

      Cause… been looking for him.

Edit: I read this and it’s embarrassing lmfao I’m sorry! 😣

Yeah my sister lost all her prints from a combo of eczema and working in food services with cleaners and gloves she was Allergic to. Last time i shook her hand i recoiled because its almost completely smooth beaides joints.
