Its always funny to read about what Arabs were up to during the war. The fact that they were attempting to starve out Jewish villages in a desire to ethnically cleanse them (they were close to succeeding in Jerusalem) never seems to be brought up, nor is the fact that over half of their villages had militias that were active in the war.
*There was no “national” framework; at best they would coordinate on a regional basis, usually in offensive actions.* ***The militiamen of a number of neighboring villages, for example, hearing of an approaching Jewish convoy, would mount an ambush together.*** *The firefight over, they would disperse until the next such fazza (summons) took place a month or two later. Occasionally a fazza lasting from two to four days was mounted against a Jewish settlement or cluster of settlements, as in May 1948 at the Etzion Bloc.*
*By the end of March,* ***the food situation in Jewish Jerusalem was growing desperate: “There is panic in the city regarding supplies.… There may be food riots,****” wrote the head of the Shai in Jerusalem, Yitzhak Levy, to his commander, Isser Be’eri. The Haganah command believed that the city was on the verge of collapse.* ***On March 31, a large supply convoy was ambushed near Kibbutz Khulda.*** *The area had been fairly quiet for weeks; a mutual Jewish- Arab agreement not to attack each other’s transport had been reached. But the night before, Haganah troops had blown up a house and killed some fifteen Arabs in a nearby village, in reprisal for the killing of a Jewish watchman*
*In the main, Palestinian military strength was based on the separate forces in the 800 or so villages and towns,* ***only about 450 of which were involved in the war.*** *(The others, almost all of which lay in the territory which became the West Bank, barely contributed to the war effort.)* ***Each had its own “militia” of ten to one hundred men, armed with pistols or rifles and a small stock of ammunition.***

Sad that those arab leaders had to tell them to get out so they can massacre jews, and they left. Well… They wanted a genocide but remained homeless purely because of their own bloodlust.

It was ok to displace and oppress these people because the people that stole her land had ancestors that lived there 3000 years ago. I mean, I’m African American, so I guess I can go to west africa and steal people’s land because my ancestors lived there and I have more money and power than they do

The Nakba started in 1948, some say even earlier.
