I’m gonna go with cognitive dissonance. On some level, they know what they’re doing is wrong, and it’s psychologically uncomfortable when that comes into contact with reality.

A group has to have a common thread. Theirs is being mentally unstable. Whether it’s through alcohol or genetics, it’s their binding principle
Competence intimidates Trump
I think spending that much time with trump would drive anyone to the bottle.
He said flat out that he likes losers.
He may not drink but he lives off of adderall and coke and I don’t mean the diet kind.
he said he likes to surround himself with losers so he feels better about himself. you know only the blest and the blightest.
All these cabinet members are selected for being total distractions.
He just misses his brother and is hiring anyone with that most memorable trait. (Alcoholics)

I’ve seen them called “The Liquor Cabinet.”

It’s the best way to fill it with lower quality people than he is himself.
