Some insights based on variance across the leagues:
- Having your opponent yellow carded is much more negatively related to standings in the Bundesliga than in other leagues.
- Last man tackles are much more positively related to standings in the Bundesliga, may mean that the league suits high-line defenses better.
- Errors leading to receiving a shot are considerably more positively related to standings in the Bundesliga and the Serie A than in other leagues, further reinforcing the idea that risky high-line teams thrive in the Bundesliga.
- Dribble attempts relation to standings is lowest in the League 1 compared to other leagues, but it's still marginally positive.
- Penalties taken are least related to standings in the Premier League than other leagues, and most positively related in the Bundesliga.
- Domination-based stats (opposition half passes, possession, total passes, etc) have the highest positive relationship with standings in the Serie A than in any other league.
- The amount of duels by team (and particularly aerial duels) is negatively related to standings consistently across all leagues.
- Ball possession is very positively related to standings across all leagues.
