the amount of hairspray that must have gone into those looks is honestly terrifying from a respiratory standpoint lol. but they look so happy and excited, probably getting ready or just got back from prom and decided to hang out in the kitchen instead of going straight to bed. i love how formal events back then meant you’d end up in the most random places still wearing your fancy dress – no one was rushing to change out of a $200 dress they saved up for months to buy. the kitchen counter setup with what looks like snacks or maybe they’re doing their nails makes this even more authentic 80s
