Anyway, I had a large ovarian cyst removed yesterday. 5.5 liters of fluid weighing 12lbs.Â
Symptoms I had for all the ovary owners out there:
– developed a small pooch last year which I chalked up to normal weight gain
– firmness in the lower abdomen
– frequent urination
– constipationÂ
– shortness of breath when bending over to tie shoes, pick something up, etc.
– off and on mild menstrual like cramps
– overall feeling of discomfort in my abdominal area

Damn. Glad it’s gone.

If you are so inclined I encourage you to check out Megan the Trainor on TikTok – she thought she has abdominal muscle separation but it was a massive ovarian cyst. She documented the whole journey – before and after is nuts.

Wow crazy how was it removed?

I’m a guy but look a bit like the before picture. Maybe a doctor can find some ovarian cyst to remove for me too 😂

I look like I have an ovarian cyst, but do not have ovaries.

Lose 12 lb instantly with this one weird trick.

My mom once had one this size. You could hear it sloshing around when she moved.
Her doctor told my grandma she was imagining things. It popped and she blacked out.
I had several smaller ones pop as a teen and was told crying from the blinding pain meant that I had some “toughening up to do”.
Glad you got good care for it, OP! It’s nice to see stories of docs actually managing these things now.

Damn, my ex wife used to get them and it would cause insanely pain menstrual cramps, but she never had one that stuck around and grew that big and required surgery

don’t answer if this is TMI, but do you have PCOS or a thyroid condition like Hashimoto’s?

How many appointments did you have to go and be told that it’s nothing and to not worry your pretty little head about it before they took it seriously enough to test?

I feel the relief from the after image. Hope you recover soon!

That surgery is illegal in how many states?

pictures remind me of those MLM weightloss posts where the picture is so different that it’s hard to tell what they’re trying to show

Okay, clearly my issue this whole time had been ovarian cysts. My doctor keeps telling me Im and idiot and to stop diagnosing, but how else could I explain the swollen abdomen? Hes just being sexist when he says i dont have ovaries…

Body image can have a negative impact on diagnosing problems like this. Don’t be afraid to get checked out!

My mother had one the size of a football taken out of her. It was in her for 15+ years. We all just thought she was fat until she lost weight and the huge bump was still there.Â
Absolutely insane.Â

Did you name it?
Is that title concise enough 🥴
