This is the restaurant where I’d happily tip 25-ish % to the waiter/waitress for their good service.

Out of curiosity do people think this way for delivery drivers too? Like they do have to use their vehicle to drive it to you. I don’t need to tell anyone how expensive car maintenance and repairs can be..

Customers want this. Honestly, the business/owners also want this.
The dirty secret is that servers don’t want this. Servers greatly prefer tips.

Servers actually don’t want this. They make way more on tips.

this lowkey reminds me of when my ex used to make me feel guilty for not “doing more” even when I was already giving everything… something about this just feels so refreshing like you can just show up, be enough, and not have someone quietly keeping score on you the whole time

Wait, I have to find something else to be stressed about at the end of a meal now? Unacceptable.

I remember the first time I went somewhere that didn’t do tipping and I just sat there awkwardly for a second like… wait what do I do with my hands now 😭 but honestly it felt so much better knowing the staff were already taken care of instead of me overthinking if I tipped “enough” every time 💀

when i was growing up i was taught that a tip is an extra thank you to the waiter and should be 10% of the bill. then i moved to the usa. it’s been 8 yrs, i’m still reeling from the idea of a, like, 30+% tip at some places

What’s a fair wage there? Note, they didn’t say a living wage. Are they basing the fairness off of minimum wage or the average wage servers are paid in their area?

In my city like 5 restaurants tried this and all failed. Reviews said prices were too high…

I’d say 99% of the people actually waiting tables would be strongly against this.
