I always thought that up to 35 hours was part time while 40+ hours was full time. But then again I’ve mostly only ever worked in warehouses

    2. They love giving you full time responsibility while keeping you on a part time budget, It is actually criminal

It should be illegal to do that. Part time should be capped at 25 hours weekly so it forces these companies to hire full time because otherwise they will need too many part timers to actually save any money instead of hiring full timers.

    4. This makes you feel needed especially when they say they can’t cut back your hours, but when you put in your 2 week notice they won’t flinch. It’s a way to for some managers to push employees out the door since it’s less paperwork involved than firing someone.

    5. If you clock more than 35 hours a week, the company is legally obligated to give you full time insurance benefits. At least in the US of A.

    6. Congratulations, Comrade, you’ve just learned that you have nothing left to lose but your chains

    7. In Mexico the maximum worktime is 48 hours and seeing this knowing that I have a 35 hours part time annoys me…

    8. Nah. I’m on idk what to call it in English. It’s a half time, but I get all the same benefits. Or access to them.

But it really feels like a job job, like free-not-so-free-trial. Every weekend gone except for one – now how to spend it – stress out about it = not enjoy it.

And then just max out every weekday I have, because now I’ve got the money to at least have some fun on schooldays.

It’s really bad, I can’t image myself doing something like that for pretty much the rest of my life. Dammit, I really gotta get my degree ASAP, and find a comfy lab spot.

    9. I know that feeling since 2022.

I worked 4 easter days and didn’t get paid double, just because i have 4 days part time contract.

Meanwhile full time workers and tempt workers getting paid double on easter days made me sad.

    10. I’m gonna be honest: at this point, if we’re going to have healthcare linked to employment, all jobs need to offer health benefits, regardless of full or part time status.

when that doesn’t happen because you live in a country with working rights and that would get shut down pretty quickly
