First of all – Naruto, Bleach and One Peace are the only Big Three. No other anime will get those titles (and no, DBZ is not part of Big Three, its their predecessor).

Secondly – I’ve never even heard of Witch Hat.

“Big 3” really just means “anime I like that’s kinda popular” to some people

True them focusing on Frieren’s bare feet so often is purely for the plot

I mean. You say that as if sexualization is an agreed upon full-on negative that no one would prefer.

Look at me. In my opinion, it certainly doesn’t make any of these shows any LESSER not to have these. In fact, it helps the tone and vibe they’re looking for. But I wouldn’t deem sexualization entirely undesirable when it comes to certain types of work. I’m one of those 7 people on this earth who genuinely finds fan service comedy, accidental moments and all, to be really funny and even endearing.

    5. what’s witch hat?

delicious dungeon? it’s pretty good, idk if I would say it was part of the top 3 anime’s from 2020

“2020 Big three” features an anime that just came out in 2026? Okay…. Big three uses to mean something.

    7. You can say the new fantasy anime boom we’re getting is amazing *without* insulting the medium of anime as a whole. People who still try to claim anime treats women purely as sexual objects are cringe. There are many different shows made for many different groups of people to enjoy, so maybe don’t focus on the ones made for teenage boys and use that as some kind of moral grandstand.

You can tell who was around pre and post Great Shift by their liberal usage of “the big three”

    9. Delicious in dungeon turned it into a comedic scene during a certain transformation

Damn, tell me what’s new? I’m yet to see a single character made for 100% sexualisation even in older shounens.

      Tourist ass post

There are plenty more anime that don’t sexualize their characters, but OP only watched 3 anime and immediately named them “the big 3”

      Fucking seriously OP

    12. There is only *one* big 3 group. There will only **EVER** be *ONE* big 3 group. Younger anime/manga readers need to fucking read before they start using monikers like that.

No it’s really that big of a deal but that doesn’t mean it’s any less annoying.

big three is big because despite the fanservice its still peak. though i do appreciate the lack of sexualization

I read Witch Hat up to its latest chapter a few years ago, and then COMPLETELY forgot about it. It’s SOOOO good, I love their take on Script magic/Signturgy or whatever you wanna call it

    15. Listen Delicous Dungeon and Friren are great (haven’t seen the third yet)

But they arent a big three.

Also I noticed how you said 100% so hilarious that you had to move the goal posts in order to virtue signal

    16. DrakeSoldier on

I know it’s not particularly fantasy, but I feel like Apothecary Diaires would be part of the friend group as well.

    17. Hate to break it to you, but Dungeon Meshi still had fanservice. Freiren, too, actually.

    18. Frieren no sexualization? OP forgot Ubel

Ain’t no way witch hat is big 3, that’s some random niche anime

    19. How many times do we have to explain what the phrase “Big 3” means before people will stop using it for random shows?
